The beetroot is the taproot portion of a beet plant, commonly known as the beet in North America, and also known as the table beet, garden beet, sugar beet, red beet, dinner beet, or golden beet. There are two traditional pickles prepared very differently from the rest of Kerala in Kerala. One is the pickle dates and the other pickle of the beetroot.
